What would dads do to help their child with autism?

Anything! Except participate in research studies. To combat the eternal problem of low paternal participation, we spoke to dads in their language. Not only did they listen, they acted.

The Challenge

Dads are 100% likely to contribute to the genetic makeup of their children. But they are far, far less likely to contribute DNA to research studies. The Chief Mommy Officer is often also the Chief Medical Officer in the house. Breakthroughs in autism genetics, though, will require DNA from parents.

The Solution

Start with data! It told us the best way to reach dads was through moms. Our campaign targeted at dads, served to moms, with content that appealed to both.

With a bit of decidedly dad humor, parents proved their love for their children by wrestling bears and giving their right arm to New York City’s top arm wrestler. Also of note, the campaign was developed from strategy to delivery in 6 weeks.

Why be the #1 Dad when you can be SPARK’s 5,787th Dad? We switched things up in 2018. Relatable Father’s Day gifts were replaced with more meaningful emblems of paternal accomplishment. Acting for autism can win the affection of the entire family.
